We now run Hugo v0.167.0

Hugo evolves and so do we. We jumped from v0.147.9 straight to v0.167.0, which brings smaller images, better colors and faster publishing. Before the switch, we tested every website we host on the new version. Most needed no changes. A handful did, mostly because of:

• Stricter YAML: a key that appears twice in the front matter is now an error.
• WebP images uploaded with a .jpg name, which we converted to real JPEGs.
• Animated GIFs, which we now serve as they are.
• Removed functions like getCSV, which we replaced.

We fixed all of these before the switch, so your website looks and works the same as before, now on a much more modern Hugo. Do you maintain your own templates and want to know whether they are ready? Contact me.
